Glasgow Hawks
The first half of the season has been a good one for Hawks in that our 1st XV remain on course for a British and Irish Cup place and with only five matches to go in the Premiership, and sitting second, the Premiership title is still in sight. Great credit must go to the senior squad of players, Director of Rugby, Peter Wright , his coaches and back room staff for both the effort and the expertise that the whole 'squad' has shown and hopefully this will be maintained in 2011.
A huge thank you must also go to our loyal band of supporters who travel 'home and away' to support the club at both 1st and 2nd XV level and we look forward to your continuing support next year as both 1st and 2nds push for league (and in the case of the 1sts) cup glory.
Finally without our sponsors, the club would not exist and the community programme, overseen by our Development Manager, Grant Talbot, would not be having the positive impact that it is having on the primary and secondary school children (at Independent and State sector level) of the North and West of Glasgow. To all our sponsors, we say a huge thank you and we look forward to continuing to work in partnership with you in 2011.
Finally I would like to thank my fellow Board & Trust members for the hard work they put in behind the scenes and to Emily Jacobs, Hugh Barrow, Alan James, our match day volunteers and the groundstaff who work tirelessly to ensure the Hawks function effectively through-out the year. Enjoy the festive break!
Yours Aye,
Allan Mackintosh
Chairman.

Glasgow Hawks is one of Scotland's leading rugby clubs.
Founded in 1997 through the amalgamation of Glasgow Academicals and GHK, the club has been Scottish Champions 3 times, Scottish Cup Winners 3 times and 38 players who have worn the Hawks jersey have gone onto play professional rugby. In association with our two founder clubs we run ten teams and continue to provide players in Glasgow and the West of Scotland with the opportunity to play rugby at whatever level they choose. We are the only club in Scotland that provides full-time coaching. Peter Wright, the former Scotland and British Lions prop, is our full-time Director of Rugby and he is committed to giving all our players the best possible coaching and welfare.
Glasgow Hawks Sports Trust. Rugby for all.
In May 2009, The Glasgow Hawks Sports Trust was granted charity status and the Memorandum & Articles states that:
The objects of the Trust shall be to promote and encourage the participation of all persons (including, in particular, children and young adults) in the sport of rugby in Glasgow and the vicinity thereof (“Local Community”); to provide facilities and activities relating to sport and sports coaching with the object of improving the conditions of life for the persons for whom the facilities or coaching are provided; and to promote, facilitate, fund, provide and encourage sports coaching in the Local Community and projects charitable in law beneficial to the community.
Glasgow Hawks are always looking for new players. Whether you have ambitions to be a professional player or purely a social player, you will be made more than welcome at Hawks. Over the last decade, Glasgow Hawks have helped a number of players achieve contracts in the professional game, many of whom have gone on to play for Scotland and the Lions. Euan Murray, Glenn Metcalfe, Graeme Morrison, Fergus Thomson to name but a few played for a number of years at Hawks before moving on to bigger and better things. We would like to help players achieve their potential no matter what it is, so if you are interested please contact Peter Wright at peterwright@glasgowhawks.com.
